It is essential that you select the correct roof type for your specific vehicle. The illustrations below should help you ascertain which roof type you have. If you're not sure, it's always best to check with our Support Team.
Clamp Mount: These roof racks attach by clamping around the door frame of this vehicle (Roof top tents are not recommended by most brands on Clamp Mount fitments)

Factory Point Mount: These roof racks attach to the factory points (usually covered by small flaps or sliding panels). Sometimes they are hidden under the paintwork

Flush Rail Mount: These roof racks clamp to the flush roof rails (no gap between the rail and roof) that run from front to back on this vehicle

Gutter Mount: These roof racks attach to the gutters that run along the side of the vehicle

Custom Point Mount: These roof racks are designed to attach via a mount that is permanently installed into the vehicles roof. Professional install is recommended for this fitment type.

Raised Rail Mount: These roof racks clamp around the raised roof rails (there is a gap between the rail and the roof) that run from front to back on this vehicle

Track Mount: These roof racks attach to the tracks that run from front to back on this vehicle
"Through bars" (also known as "overhang bars") are the most popular bars we sell as (1) you can carry more on them and (2) there's a higher probability of them fitting other vehicles.

"Flush bars" look neater, but you don't get as much useable bar length and they're not as transferrable.

"Platforms" offer a larger stable base that make it perfect to carry multiple items e.g. awnings, tents and other accessories.
Wing shaped bars are the quietest and most aerodynamic, followed by oval shaped Aero bars.

Square profile racks are the least efficient / loudest.

Heavy Duty bars are a mix of Square and Aero profiles, and are typically a stiffer bar (ideal for wider vehicles e.g. vans)
Some vehicles have provisions for more than two crossbars. In some cases, you may only require a single bar for a Ute or lighting application
Some rack installations require modification to the vehicle's roof or require you to drop the internal roof lining of the vehicle - so we recommend professional installation of these products.

When choosing your roof rack you should consider not all racks are equal, as certain types of fittings are much stronger than others.

We recommend that you select the stronger fitment when planning any off-road adventure
All brands of roof racks have a product load rating which refers to the strength of the product, however ALL roof rack applications are subject to the vehicle's roof load rating - which is found in the vehicle's handbook (or by contacting the vehicle manufacturer)
Not all bike racks come with locks as standard, and we would always recommend that you consider how to secure your bike(s) while you're parked
A number plate and lights on the back of a bike rack is mandatory in most states of Australia, so please check with your local state authority to ensure you adhere to the local laws
Not all bike racks can handle the weight and size of eBikes and large downhill bikes. Please consider the (1) total weight capacity (2) max weight per bike and (3) the maximum wheel base to ensure the carrier is suitable for your bike(s)

Very few carriers are specifically warranted for off-road use.

If you intend to use off-road, you should consider one which is warranted for off-road use
When choosing a rack for use with carbon frame bikes you need to consider a Wheel Hold carrier, or using a carbon frame adapter to protect the bike's frame
All bike racks have different frame size compatibility. You should check the carrier is compatible with ALL of your bikes
Bike racks have different tyre width compatibility, if you have over size tyres you should check the carrier is compatible with your bike
Bike racks have different wheel size compatibility. If you have over-size tyres, you should check the carrier is compatible with your bike
It is not recommended to use bike racks on trailers or caravans, and RV's have very limited warranted options.

Caravans should only use bike racks specifically designed for their van, so we suggest to contact the van manufacturer
Roof boxes come in a range of different finishes: gloss, textured and matte. Gloss is always better for use in snowy or icy conditions as it allows the snow to be removed easily.

Textured is recommended for off road and bush driving as it is more scratch resistant
Roof boxes are mostly measured in volume. While this is a good tool to compare boxes, it is often better to consider the dimensions and if your luggage will fit inside the box.
